Transfixed was a three part thesis with the objective of clarifying a highly complex sociopolitical issue through design research. By researching for, into, and through design, the final deliverables defined how anti-transgender rhetoric works and the communication and design strategies we can employ to bridge gaps in understanding within our local communities.
The project culminated in a fully functional clock, an interactive exhibit, and a book documenting process and research. I also delivered a formal presentation of my thesis to ASU’s School of Social Transformation to complete a certificate in LGBT+ studies.
